The Pleasers Film Project is a stripper-made (written, produced, and starring) series of fictional narrative short films that showcase the
intelligence, community, and humanity
of dancers in the Portland Strip Club scene. These films are unapologetically
queer, witty, funny, intelligent, and Human,
just like the Portland dancers it centers on. Tired of the vilification, victimization and objectification of strippers in popular media, the Pleasers Film Project seeks to portray the raw reality of strippers’ own experiences, and in doing so
humanize and create empathy
for SWers and queer folks. It’s time to properly represent this rich, diverse community and open up conversations about how to create safer, more sustainable practices within the field. It’s time for
Pleasers Film.
